Malawi
Halima Orphan Care started in the year 2000 with about 1,000 orphans but now with the HIV/AIDS pandemic which is increasing every day the number of orphans is also increasing every second so there are now over Five thousand (5,000) orphans.
The Board of Trustees of Halima Orphan Care have decided to follow the right channel to register with the council for non governmental organization on Malawi so that it can be recognized by the government, NGOs as well as well wishers and should not be a problem or raise suspicion when asking for assistance.
The objectives of the trust are as follows:
1. Provision of food, clothes, educational materials and shelter to the orphans to make them independent.
2. Provision of free food to the needy villagers especially with old people who are looking after orphans.
3. Provision of starter packs to needy farmers in rural areas in order to boost their harvest and especially to those who are looking after orphans.
4. To build orphanage schools and skills training institutions in different communities.
5. Provision of shelter for the poor and old people in different communities and also renovating their dwellings.
6. Supporting child headed families most of whom are orphans.
7. Furnish volunteer aid and support to HIV/AIDS infected persons and members of the community.
8. Provision of educational books in orphanage schools and needy village schools in different communities in rural and urban areas.
We hope and believe that our objectives are in line with the governments policy of fighting poverty at all levels.
